1999. Summer. Portugal. Rafaela is ready to go. Faced with the ghosts of the past, the present and her uncertain future she has a big decision to make.

1999 explores a world that’s run by men but the repercussions are dealt by the women. Rooted in Portuguese beginnings, 1999 seeks to shed light on a true story, a sad, a family story.

“Isto não é 1974, eu posso dizer o que eu quero.”
