LIGHTING CONTROL

Lighting Desk:

• Zero 88 Jester 24

• DMX512 output (Universe 1)

The Jester supports:

• Manual channel control

• Submasters

• Cue stack playback

LED colour is mixed manually via RGBW faders (no colour picker).

The desk is suitable for:

• Fringe theatre

• Comedy

• Music

• Simple to moderately complex cueing

LIGHTING PATCH (SUMMARY)

Conventional Lanterns (Dimmers)

• FOH PAR cans and profiles (warm wash & specials)

• Overhead Fresnels

• Side PARs

• Backlight Fresnels

Warm front light remains tungsten for natural skin tones.

LED Wash Lighting (Non-Dimmed Power)

LED units are used for colour wash and atmosphere, not face light.

Front Colour Wash (paired):

• Master Intensity

• Strobe

• Red / Green / Blue / White

Side Colour Wash (paired):

• Master Intensity

• Strobe

• Red / Green / Blue / White

LEDs are intentionally paired to simplify operation.

House rule:
LEDs should be faded using the Master Intensity channels.
RGBW channels are for colour mixing only.

Strobe / Effects

• LED strobe unit available

• DMX controlled

Strobe use should be intentional and brief.
Please advise in advance if your show includes frequent strobe effects.

POWER

• Conventional lanterns powered via dimmer packs

• LED fixtures powered from 13A wall sockets (non-dimmed)

• Projector power is independent of the lighting dimmers

Do not plug LED fixtures or projector equipment into dimmer channels.

EXTERNAL LIGHTING DESKS

Visiting companies may use their own lighting console by prior agreement.

• External desk must feed DMX OUT → Jester DMX IN (Universe 1)

• The house desk must remain powered on and inline

• No repatching or unplugging of house equipment

FILE STORAGE / USB

• The Jester supports USB memory sticks for saving/loading show files

• Best compatibility is with small USB 2.0 FAT32 sticks (2–4GB)

We recommend companies bring compatible media if saving show data.

HOUSE RULES (IMPORTANT)

• No repatching or modification of house equipment without prior approval

• Any additional equipment must be agreed in advance

• Please arrive with adequate time for get-in and focus
