I, the Boar is a new piece of writing that reimagines the Adonis story from Ovid’s Metamorphoses in the modern world. The play follows a young man whose inner life begins to fracture as the demands placed on his body become increasingly brutal. At times comic, poetic and highly physical, the play brings moments of tenderness alongside ritualised encounters of power and violence, and the boundary between human, animal and symbol slowly begins to erode.
