Who am I? Where do I belong?
A two-woman play exploring cultural in-betweenness — one character, second-generation Chinese-Spanish; the other, mixed-race Danish, Nigerian, and Italian — who has long navigated multiple worlds. As they wrestle with identity, belonging, and the weight of expectations, their balloons become both a mirror of their struggles and an imaginary friend offering comfort in a world that doesn’t always understand them.
Through raw, intimate dialogues, they confront alienation, racial prejudice, and the search for home. Poignant, deeply personal, and laced with humour, Neither Here Nor There speaks to international, second-generation, third-culture individuals, immigrants, and anyone questioning their place in society. This play is for those shaped by more than one culture and belonging to all and none.
