Artivistic performance originally created to commemorate the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls. The piece draws an analogy from the scientific fact that butterflies lack a physical voice, linking this to how trauma silences parts of the human body that share a physical similarity with butterfly anatomy.
The narrative follows a woman and her therapist on a regressive journey into childhood to uncover a secret retained within the flesh. Together, they trigger a metamorphosis, reclaiming power from pain as they liberate their own voices; a psychomagic act achieved when other women listen to the protagonist within the sound of her silence. Following this immersive experience, the company Hilanderas offers a Q&A and a workshop based on Roy Hart to release energies absorbed during the performance. This project, which holds a strong social responsibility with art created from a gender perspective, will also offer a programme detailing the process and how to join this creative community.
